Compliments Galore
Never had so many compliments on footwear until I started wearing these boots. I absolutely love them...this is my second pair and have 3 different styles of this brand. The Old Gringo brand runs about a half size big so I ordered an 8.5 versus the normal 9 in every other boot for that true cowboy snug fit. You can dress them up with a dress or skirt or go casual with jeans. I put 1000s of miles on the first pair and they are still in fabulous shape but as they are a timeless classic I wanted a spare pair to keep well into old age.

This is my third pair of OG boots and I love them! The two-toned leather is really a nice look. They are a bit narrow in the ankle and the shaft, and I have very narrow ankles.

Bonnies are truly beautiful boots by OG. The colors are beautifully embroidered and the chocolate and brass combo is perfection. Very comfortable and the leather is soft. Love these!! True to size and no break in required. I have athletic calves and these stretched out perfectly. LOOve them!!

I love these boots!! Ordered after around black Friday after Thanksgiving. This is my 2nd pair of OG’s, and I’m an OG girl, although they are pricey, in contrast to the fit in lower end boots, my OG’s always fit like they were custom made for me (side note: look up OG’s 110 step handmade process that goes into every boot!!) I find these boots fit true to size. I wear a size 10 in tennis shoes, and got these in a 10. I do have a narrow ankle &low arch, so even I wear my arch support insole, knee high socks (or soccer socks), & a pair of good ankle socks on top these fit like a dream. The leather is high quality, and the boot tops are thinner so they feel more like 2nd skin than bulky. These didn't take long to break in, and I can walk for hours/miles in them (9 miles in fact, walking off all the Christmas eating on Christmas day - true story!)
The pictures do not do these boots justice. The detail on these boots is incredible – not just the embroidery but the cut outs of arrows, and vintage look. I get a ton of compliments on these every time I wear them, It’s kind of funny too that a lot of compliments come from gruff and tough men that say they wish they had them. The smell of the new leather is also amazing. I work in finance & I’ve been able to wear these on Fridays & had a lot of people stop by to check them out & ask if I was burning a leather candle.
This was also my first purchase from Rivertrail. I was hesitant to order from an unknown (to me) and out of state retailer at first. The boots came as carefully packaged as anything I get in the mail & was also insured with signature required & free 3 day priority shipping. Which was re-assuring since I live in an apartment in a large city where mail theft takes place. Rivertrail has a great selection of OG boots and I’ll definitely continue to order from them. Customer service is great – I’ve gotten a prompt response anytime I’ve emailed. The one item I’ve submitted as constructive feedback, and that I hope that they will implement in the near future, is to make the interface of their website more consumer navigation friendly (like filter for color/size) for e-com. They have all the other things that make it a great place to shop.

Just received my very first pair of Old Gringo boots yesterday - the Bonnie Brass. Wow! These boots are absolutely stunning, breath-taking, and amazing! The contrast between the dark chocolate and brass leathers with the beautiful floral embroidery make this boot a real head-turner! I ordered a size 6, which I wear in most boots, and they feel fine. I'm used to wearing square and round toe boots, so may take a little getting used to the narrower snip toe. But holy cow are these boots perfection in leather! I'm definitely an OG fan now and already have a wishlist of other styles. I'm also a brand new customer for RiverTrail and, as every other review mentions, RiverTrail is a terrific online retailer - genuine customer service, great selection, and free shipping! They also get 5 stars from me!

These boots are more expensive than say Corral or others, but the quality, fit and style are worth the difference in price. Also, Rivertrail Mercantile provides an excellent price compared to the competition and the service is outstanding. Another plus is that I enjoy talking to real human beings who answer the phone and provide feedback and assistance. I turned on my friends and sister in law to both. Buy the Old Gringos through RM and you will not be disappointed.

I have looked at the Bonnie Old Gringo boots for a year. I finally ordered them and they did not disappoint. They are gorgeous! I have large calves and the shaft was VERY snug at first. I have worn them off and on around the house for a week and they now fit like a glove! I wear a size 8, but ordered an 8.5. I could have stayed with an 8, however, the 8.5 fit perfect with thick socks. Shipping was fast, customer service excellent. I can't wait to wear them to the Miranda Lambert concert!

My first pair of Old Gringo boots! Wish I could afford several more! They are truly "works of art"! What I really wanted was the Bonnie Razz as it had a more rounded toe which would've been better in my opinion for wearing with all styles of clothing. I feel as if these are more what I consider traditional western style. The razz was just a seasonal style because I could not find them in my size. But....I'm going to treasure these as I may never be able to afford another pair! Worth every penny! As far as this business goes, they are great, and I would do business with them again and recommend them to my friends!
Exceed my expectation!
As many have said, these boots are even more impressive in person. I LOVE them! I was really worried about the shaft being too tight on my calves but they fit well right out of the box. The customer service was excellent as well. Lauren answered all my questions and concerns via email. I felt very comfortable with my order after I talked with her. EXCELLENT!
Beautiful boots !
The boots are more beautiful that I would have expected. I ordered a 1/2 size shorter than my typical size, due to the fact that I have an extremely narrow foot. I am still undecided as to whether I will switch them for my regular shoe size. Most boots that I have ordered have worked in the slightly shorter size to accomodate my small and very narrow foot. I think these will do but I am still a bit unsure. The boots themselves are just fabulous...

In LOVE with my new boots!
Oh, my!!! Just got my boots today, and they're simply GORGEOUS -- absolutely worth every penny! If you're wondering whether you should splurge on these bad boys, the answer is a resounding YES! The leather feels (and smells) delicious, and the stitching is intricate without being over-the-top. Like the others reviewers have already said, with these boots you'll be a walking work of art. Super comfy straight out of the box. My only minor complaint is that the footbed isn't very soft. But that can easily be fixed. Runs TTS.
As for the customer service: Excellent! I got several updates about the status of my order, and my package arrived in two quick days. Thanks -- I'll definitely be shopping with y'all again!

Just received my Bonnie boots. They arrived 2 days after my order. Excellent service! They are perfection. Not only are they beautiful but they fit like they were custom made for me. I usually wear a 10 and I ordered a 10. If you are hesitating...just DO IT! I have zero regrets on this purchase.
Head-Turner Boot

Favorite Boots Ever!!
I purchased these boots because they looked great from photos on the website but mostly it was based on ALL of the great reviews I read. The reviews were correct!! These boots are a work of art. Oh, my favorite review was from the lady who ordered them when she was drunk, loved them, but had to send them back!! Anyway, they are so cool but I was not sure if they were a bit too big or not so I called River Mercantile. I spoke with Lauren (I hope I am remembering her name correctly) and she was amazingly helpful! She even let me send photos of me with the boots on to help figure it out and thankfully they worked just fine! There was at least a month back order of the next size down, so YAY!!! I am one happy cowgirl. Thank you River Merc! I love you!
Beautiful boot
The boot was beautiful and very well made; however, the size ran very large. In a Frye boot, I wear an 8 1/2 but this was too, too large in Old Gringo. I returned because I do not know what size to reorder.

I own several pairs of cowboy boots but these Old Gringo boots are by far the best! They are gorgeous and fit like a glove. They are true to size (I wear an 8.5) and the detail is amazing. I did find them to be a bit narrow so I swapped them for the next size up and added an orthodic inset. Now they are as comfortable as they are beautiful!! Love Love Love these boots!
I knew when I ordered these that these boot would be tight on my calves but I had to have them!
I took them to our local western wear store and they stretched them for me.They're perfect!!! There was no breaking in time before they fit my foot perfect.
Now I don't want to wear my other boots at all! Customer service at Rivertrail Merchantile is top notch. Any future boot purchases will be from here!
